Air duct cleaning provides a cleaner living and working environment. It dramatically reduces dust and other airborne debris and decreases symptoms of asthma, allergies and other respiratory health issues. A clean heating and cooling system also greatly enhances efficiency thereby increasing equipment life. Our crews employ cameras to check the condition of the ducts before cleaning and to ensure all dirt is removed after cleaning.
Air vents often get noticeably dirty, and many times they are just out of reach. Even when you think you’ve gotten the dust removed, it could still end up being only a surface cleaning in need of more attention from professionals.
It is crucial that you keep your dryer vent in top condition – not only for cleanliness sake, but also to avoid the chance of the dryer lint catching fire. Calloway can ensure that your dryer vents are working as good as new!
Having a bird or other small animal stuck in your vents is always a difficult situation, so it’s important to consider getting a bird cage installed for your vents to avoid it. Calloway is an expert in installation so you can avoid this issue.
Mold frequently grows under the sink, in the basement, at the shower drape, in the corners, in drywall, in dripping walls, and so on.
Mold can be of 1,000 types, and professionals categorize them in accordance with the impacts they have on individuals and other living things, as follows:
These molds are the least hazardous ones, and kids are more vulnerable to these allergic reactions. They exacerbate the asthma signs and cause issues in individuals with an inclined allergic reaction to the particular mold.
Pathogenic molds result in infections and are incredibly harmful when it comes to a weak body immune system. Individuals exposed to these mold types establish a severe reaction just like bacterial pneumonia.
These molds produce mycotoxins which result in extreme health results, like immunosuppression and cancer. The hazardous chemicals in these mold types are soaked up as quickly as they are breathed in, touched, or consumed.
If you haven’t had your air ducts cleaned in a while or have begun to smell or detect a musty odor around your home or office then it’s probably time to call Calloway.
We turn off the furnace for the safety of our technicians and so that the furnace doesn’t cycle on and off while we are cleaning, interfering with the air duct cleaning process.
We start by cutting two 8” diameter holes in the duct work nearest the furnace above the A-Coil. One hole is cut on the return ductwork and one hole is cut on the supply ductwork. We then mount the air duct cleaning machine to the duct work. When cleaning the return ductwork side of the furnace we mount to the return ductwork side. When cleaning the supply ductwork side of the furnace we mount to the supply ductwork side. We can only clean one side at a time.
We then seal all of your register vents and returns with duct masking. When we turn on the vacuum motors on our air duct cleaning equipment, that is mounted to the furnace system, it will create a negative air pressure on the duct work system so that all of the air is pulling towards the air duct cleaning machine to capture all of the dirt & debris.
We begin cleaning from the furthest register away from the furnace. We start by peeling back the duct masking on the register cover, insert a compressed airline with various interchangeable fittings to push, pull and loosen up debris in the duct work. As the debris is being loosened up in your ductwork the air duct cleaning machine is pulling the airborne debris towards the furnace. All of the other registers still remain masked off maintaining negative air pressure so the debris doesn’t free flow back into the airspace. Once we have cleaned that particular register port we then reattach the register vent cover and cover the register back up with the duct masking to ensure we are still maintaining negative air pressure. Working from the furthest point away from your furnace, we systematically move all the dirt and debris in the duct work towards the air duct cleaner.
Once all of the register vents have been cleaned and the debris is down in the main trunk line coming off the furnace we then use a cone hole bit and drill 1” holes to get our airline in the duct to push all of that heavy debris into the air ducting cleaning machine that we just removed from the rest of the system. Don’t worry about the holes we drilled because we use little black air seal plugs to plug the hole back where we drilled to ensure you don’t have any air leaks or lose any system performance when we’re finished.
After getting all of the dirt and debris loosened up by pushing it with air towards the air duct cleaning machine the air goes through a three-stage HEPA-filtration system: the largest debris is caught in the first-stage catch basket filter and finer particulates are caught by the second and third stage filters, leaving you with 99.9 percent clean air coming out of the air duct cleaning machine back into the airspace.
